Our Story

Baseline Food is a concept developed by two good friends who grew up together on Baseline Road in rural Southwest Michigan. After spending their childood just a mile down the road from each other, their separate lives took them to the far reaches of the USA and the globe: from Florida, New York City, Boston, and Washington State to South Africa, Israel, the United Kingdom, and beyond. Through continual correspondence and friendship, this endeavor has been enriched with a trove of experiences and knowledge to supplement their earliest “baseline” principles of simplicity, quality, and care.

Baseline Food produces fresh artisan breads with organic ingredients from farmers and mills in Michigan.

We want to give our customers delicious and sustainable breads. Most of all, we want to expand people’s palates and share regionally sourced products. As such, we use flours milled exclusively from certified organic, Michigan grown grains. At present our millers are Stony Croft Farms (Lapeer, MI) and Grand Traverse Culinary (Traverse City, MI).
